Built on Service, Grit, and a Big Leap of Faith
Mutt’s Electric is owned and operated by a husband-and-wife team who chose this business with both feet in.
Before moving across the state to take over the company, we were living and working in Fort Lauderdale. Brittany had built a strong career with Lexus, where she spent nearly a decade learning operations, customer service, organization, and how to keep a busy business moving. She is the steady hand behind the scenes — the planner, the organizer, and the one who makes sure the details do not get missed.
I came from a different path. I served in the United States Navy as a Gas Turbine Electrician aboard the USS James E. Williams, DDG 95. During my time in the Navy, I deployed twice — once to the Middle East supporting freedom of trade operations near the Strait of Hormuz, Yemen, Oman, and surrounding waters, and once to South America supporting anti-narcotics operations. My military service shaped how I approach work: with discipline, preparation, accountability, and respect for doing things the right way.
While in the Navy, I also began investing in real estate. Years later, when the opportunity came to buy this electrical business, Brittany and I made the decision to sell two investment properties, leave our careers, take on the risk, and move to a town where we did not know anyone. Our family thought we were a little nuts. They may still think that. But we believed in the opportunity, and we were all in.
The business was formerly known as Jeff Masters Electric. As we stepped into ownership, we knew we wanted the company name to feel more personal and more connected to who we are. Mutt’s Electric comes from my Navy nickname, “Mut,” short for “Big Body Mut,” given to me on the ship. It stuck — and now it represents something bigger: a local electrical company built on grit, loyalty, hard work, and responsibility.
Of course, the real boss of the family is Lola, our 9-year-old dog who acts more like a 63-year-old sweetheart. She has been with us through big moves, big decisions, and the kind of life changes that only make sense when you believe deeply in what you are building.
At Mutt’s Electric, this business is personal. We are not here to be the biggest electrical company in town. We are here to build something steady, trustworthy, and rooted in the community we now call home. Our goal is simple: provide responsible electrical service, communicate clearly, do the work correctly, and stand behind what we do.
We took a big leap to be here. Now we are focused on earning your trust one job at a time.
